Every Video Has a Purpose

It is fun to start a new project.

Especially if you’re good at it.

But after sometime that new project becomes old.

Soon you start dreading it.

If that sounds familiar to you, then you’ve got to read this.

Nike Run Club

My favorite app for running is Nike Run Club.

Recently I discovered their list of guided runs with Chris Bennett, Nike Running Global Head Coach.

I was hooked. I started running more, running faster, running further, and running happier.

Then I noticed a phrase that Coach Bennett uses a lot during those runs:

Every run has a purpose.

Now that phrase is stuck in my head.

Every time I head out for a run, I’d ask myself, “what’s the purpose of this run?”

Live Streaming on YouTube

Frankly, now that I live stream daily on YouTube, there were times when I’m too tired, too depressed, or run out of things to say.

And when I felt that way, I sometimes just wanted out.

I’ve even given myself permission to skip a day.

But I would then psych myself up and show up.

And I’m proud to say I’ve not missed a day for the last 129 days straight.

You want to know why?

Because every video has a purpose.

And that purpose is because of one person.
