The Sum of Small Efforts

Today we took the kids out to celebrate Children’s Day.
We had a great time bonding and also creating positive memories together.
By the time we got home, I’m exhausted. Additionally, I have yet to check off any of my most important tasks for the day. Now that sucks.
When I stared at the list, I almost wanted to take the easy way out. By carrying it forward to the next day.
Then I stopped myself.
Hard habit to break
Because if I were to do this once, I’m likely to do this again.
Before I know it, it would have become a habit.
I know that because I’ve been down that slippery slope.
5 minutes
I then gave myself 5 minutes to complete each task.
Before I knew it, I not only checked off those tasks, I even did more than was intended.
Which brings me to today’s quote.
Success is the sum of small efforts — repeated day in and day out.
