Get These Out Of Your Head
The first step in designing a better life is to do a brain dump. That basically means you grab a piece of paper and write down everything that is in your head.
You might ask, “what is everything?”
Everything refers to any “open loops”.
According to David Allen, he defines it as:
Anything that does not belong where it is, the way it is, is an “open loop,” which will be pulling on your attention if it’s not appropriately managed.
He continues with several examples:
Open loops can include everything from really big to-do items like “End world hunger” to the more modest “Hire new assistant” to the tiniest task such as “Replace porch lightbulb.”
